HEALTH ALLIANCE FOR AUSTIN MUSICIANS
|
I am a musician here in Texas and I am a member of HAAM. In the summer of 2006 I experienced some chest pains. I went to Seton Medical Center to the emergency room to have this investigated. It turns out that everything was fine, I just need to take better care of myself. Upon receiving the bill I was nervous about the amount that I would have to pay due to the fact that I am a struggling artist, I really thought it would be expensive. When I pulled the bill out it was for approximately $1500. After the adjustment, I paid, yes it's true, $50. I want to thank Carolyn and the HAAM program for giving me proof in the world that there are people who care about people. Thank you so much. - Daniel Jones, drummer
HAAM is a special project fund of the Austin Community Foundation.
The Health Alliance for Austin Musicians began in April 2005 with the generous support of Seton Family of Hospitals, St. David's Community Health Foundation Leadership and the SIMS Foundation. However, your support is needed to continue and expand our successful program that is providing quality health care to Austin's most valued resource: its musicians.
HAAM needs your help to provide low-cost, primary healthcare services to Austin-area professional musicians. By helping to keep Austin musicians healthy, we can keep our wonderful city as the "Live Music Capital of the World."

Sustaining Sponsors are a unique group of people who recognize that the work of HAAM is ongoing. They know that in a very short time HAAM has become an integral part of Austin's healthcare safety net and they have made a three year commitment of $5000 or more each year. Their contributions will secure and expand musicians access to care in the years to come. We thank them for their
long-term vision and ongoing support for the the health of Austin's
musicians. To learn more about becoming a Sustaining Sponsor click here.
